AB 35 - Environment: State Buildings:
Sustainable Building Standards This
bill would enact the Sustainable Building Act of 2007
and would require the Environmental Protection Agency,
by July 1, 2009, to adopt regulations for sustainable
building standards for the construction or renovation of
state buildings, as defined. See attached veto message
AB 888 - Green Building
Standards This bill would require new
commercial buildings for which a public agency deems the
application for a development project complete on or
after January 1, 2013, and that are 50,000 square feet
or greater, be designed, constructed, and operated, to
meet the applicable standards described in the United
States Green Building Council's Leadership in Energy and
Environmental Design gold rating or its equivalent,
unless the state adopts specified minimum green building
standards, in which case, those commercial buildings
would be required to meet the adopted standards. See attached veto message
AB 1058 - Green Building Construction:
Best Practices This bill would
require the Department of Housing and Community
Development, by July 1, 2009, in conjunction with a
specified working group of certain state entities that
it would coordinate, and, in consultation with specified
public and private sector organizations, to develop
green building standards for residential occupancies,
and submit them to the Building Standards Commission for
review, adoption, approval, and publication. See attached veto message

The
building standards commission will be coming out
November 5th with draft language for proposed changes to
the state code that we should link directly to. I will
forward you the link when I get it.
