Congratulations for completing the Academy Core Curriculum Week in Sacramento.

Article

The Building Officials Leadership Academy (BOLA) is designed to develop and strengthen the leadership skills of both experienced public safety professionals and those aspiring to lead in California’s building departments. Through executive-level coursework and networking opportunities, participants gain valuable insights from peers and mentors, equipping them for current and future leadership roles.

Since its inception over a decade ago, there have been over six dozen graduates, many of whom have become building officials or directors in their jurisdictions.

The current BOLA cohort completed their core curriculum week from May 4-8, 2026 in Sacramento, engaging in five days of intensive coursework covering administration, legislation, leadership, communication, budgeting, and more.

We celebrate these professionals for taking this significant step in their careers!
