The City of Mill Valley is seeking to hire a Senior Building Inspector/Plans Examiner. Under the direction of the Building Official, the Senior Building Inspector is responsible for the coordination of all plan review processes and support to the Building Official. The Senior Building Inspector may supervise and direct the Building Inspector, Code Enforcement Officer, Building Counter Technician, administrative staff, and contractors. The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of experience in the industry and a minimum of two years supervisory experience. They should possess expert knowledge of the ICC and ideally possess an associate’s degree or higher in a related field. Further, the ideal candidate will have certification as a Plans Examiner or the ability to obtain certification within six months of hire. The position requires excellent attention to detail, superior customer service skills, and a sense of humor. CASp or other additional ICC certifications are a plus.
