Free Member Live Webinar – 0.1 CEUs

Thursday, November 6, 2025
10:00am – 11:00am
ICC PP Course No. 46812 (0.1 CEUs)

Description: Join us for this one-hour presentation where we review the all-electric Prescriptive and Mandatory Energy Code (Title 24, Part 6, the California Building Energy Efficiency Standards) requirements that have been introduced for this 2025 Building Code cycle that can support the goals of a Zero Net Carbon Design (ZNCD) project. We will review the updated requirements in regards to updated solar photovoltaic (PV) and battery energy storage system (BESS) calculations, new domestic hot water system requirements in support of all-electric equipment, revised heated pool and spa requirement supporting heat pump technology, limits on Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) design options that may require heat or energy recovery and mandatory compartmentalization testing, and the additional heat pump equipment design requirements. Additionally, we will explore the new Performance Approach compliance metric “Long-term System Cost” (LSC), which converts the predicted site energy use to long-term dollar costs to California’s energy system. This webinar is designed for plans examiners and building inspectors, as well as the trade professionals, energy consultants, and architects who building departments may interact with.

This webinar is brought to you by Energy Code Ace, a resource developed by the California Statewide Codes & Standards Program and vetted by the California Energy Commission, offering no-cost tools, training, and resources to support compliance with California’s Building Energy Efficiency Standards (Title 24, Part 6) and Appliance Standards (Title 20). Part of CALBO’s Industry Spotlight series, this session provides educational insights into emerging tools and practices in building safety. While examples may feature Energy Code Ace clients and technology, the content is for informational purposes only and does not constitute an endorsement by California Building Officials (CALBO).
