This webinar outlines the path wind and seismic loads take through a 2-story wood-frame structure, as well as the importance of a complete load path and associated construction details. First, the load path is explained, including how shear walls and diaphragms work, and what can happen to a house when there is a lateral load path failure.  Second, the load path is traced from start to finish at a high level to provide a general understanding of how the loads move through a wood framed structure. And third, the load path is examined in detail with explanations of exactly how the loads move through each member and connection plus common framing errors observed at these locations. Associated code requirements are also discussed. This webinar benefits designers, architects, plan reviewers, permit technicians, field inspectors, and building officials.
