Description: This webinar provides an overview of the new 2025 California Wildland-Urban Interface (WUI) Code, Title 24, Part 7, effective January 1, 2026. Participants will learn how the new standalone code consolidates WUI provisions previously located in the California Building Code, California Residential Code, and California Fire Code into one coordinated document. The course will highlight key changes, including applicability in Fire Hazard Severity Zones, building construction provisions, defensible space requirements, and discuss the Zone 0 ember-resistant perimeter plus what to watch out for when applying the provisions during plan review and inspections. The target audience includes building officials, fire officials, plans examiners, inspectors, design professionals, contractors, and others involved in permitting, design, construction, or enforcement in WUI areas.
