Local jurisdictions are required to administer and enforce minimum standards for all existing residential buildings. This course provides attendees with an understanding of the State Housing Law Regulations contained in Title 25, the State Housing Law contained in the California Health and Safety Code and the corresponding minimum requirements in the California Building Standards Code (Title 24) for various types of dwelling units. Attendees learn to effectively identify and communicate code deficiencies to customers, as well as develop solutions based on building code fundamentals. Attendees also develop an awareness of other housing related state health and safety mandates and agency authorities to help provide appropriate responses and referrals. This course is useful for building inspectors, code enforcement officers, experienced permit technicians and other building-safety professionals.
