The CALBO Training Institute (CTI) is excited to welcome attendees back for another year of education, professional development, and connection with building professionals from across California.

This year, Education Weeks will once again offer both in person and virtual attendance options, giving you the flexibility to choose the experience that works best for you.

CALBO New Online Portal – Step-by-Step Guides Available

What does it mean for you?

CALBO launched a new online portal and registration system at members.calbo.org to simplify event registrations and improve the user experience for both individual attendees and group registration processes.

The new portal will serve as the central location for CALBO event registrations, records, and account management moving forward.

First Time Logging In?

Select “Set Up an Account” on the login screen and follow the prompts to get started.

IMPORTANT: All users will have their own individual account tied to their email address.

IMPORTANT: Each submitter and registrant must use their own account tied to their individual email address. Shared logins and generic email accounts are NOT permitted.

After selecting your Education Week event, choose the “Group Registration” option to begin.

Agency coordinators may register multiple employees; however, each attendee must still have their own individual account and unique email address.

⚠️ IMPORTANT: Select ONE Course Per Day Only

Education Week courses are full-day courses and occur at the same time.

IMPORTANT: Registrants may enroll in only one (1) in-person or virtual course per day, per event venue.

Multiple course selections on the same day are NOT permitted.

It is the responsibility of the registration submitter AND registrant to review all confirmation emails ensuring that only ONE (1) course is selected per day, per venue. Unless CALBO is notified in written format within the event cancellation and transfer deadline, refunds, credits, or registration adjustments will NOT be issued.

All requested changes will follow the event cancellation and transfer guidelines.

Attending a Virtual Education Week?

What to Expect from your Virtual Attendance?

CALBO has invested in production resources to live stream courses from Burlingame and Costa Mesa. Courses are taught live with an additional subject matter expert in the classroom to work with all virtual attendees in real-time. To make the most of your experience, please read the information below.

  • Registration Deadlines - Burlingame Registration Deadline is Thursday, September 17 at 5:00pm sharp, no exceptions. Costa Mesa Registration Deadline is Thursday, October 15 at 5:00pm sharp, no exceptions.

  • One Week Before Each Course - Please download the Zoom application on an electronic device, such as a laptop, desktop or tablet. Without this application, courses cannot be watched by a virtual student. Each student must join their Zoom classroom with their personalized join link and watch their course for credit.

  • Two Days Before Each Course - Each student is emailed a personalized Zoom join link 72 hours before each course. Audio and visual can be accessed with the link. These links are unique to each student and may NOT be shared with others. Unique links are also emailed to each student to download course materials as well. Please download and save the materials as the links expire after each course concludes.

  • Day of Each Course - Each student should use their personalized Zoom join link to enter their online classroom on the course day after 7:30am. Courses start at 8:00am. Audio and visual can be accessed with this link. Please consult the conference program for daily schedule and break times. IMPORTANT: Virtual students must log into their online classroom using their personalized Zoom join link to WATCH the entire course to receive credit. Logging out of a virtual classroom or calling into a webinar without using a link to watch the course disqualifies an attendee from earning CEUs. An attendance certificate will not be issued.

  • Breaks - Each Course takes place from 8:00am – 3:30pm with scheduled breaks. Ten-minute breaks take place at 9:00am,10:15am, 1:15pm, and 2:30pm. Lunch takes place from 11:15am – 12:15pm. Times are strictly followed. IMPORTANT: If attending virtually, please do not log out during the breaks.

  • Attendance Credit - Course credits will be issued through the registrant’s CALBO Online Portal after the live course concludes and all attendance requirements have been verified. Registrants may access attendance records, transcripts, and earned credits directly through their portal account.All courses are approved by the ICC Preferred Provider Program and most courses are approved by The American Institute of Architects (AIA). Please check the course descriptions for further information. For six-hour courses, 0.6 CEUs are granted.

  • Evaluations - Each student is emailed an online course and instructor evaluation after each course concludes to provide feedback about their learning experience.

  • Cancellations - Written notification of cancellation must be received by info@calbo.org no later than one week before the start of the event for a refund, minus a 25% processing fee. Any cancellations after this date are non-refundable, and the registrant is responsible for full payment. No-shows are NOT refunded.

  • Transfers - Registrations may be transferred to another individual or to another 2026 Education Week venue if the written request is received by info@calbo.org no later than one week before the start of the event. No registration transfers or changes after this date or onsite registrations at the venue will be accepted. No attendance changes from in-person to virtual or virtual to in-person after this date will be accepted. All transfer requests are subject to a 25% processing fee and are not guaranteed. All changes are at the discretion of the CALBO Office. Please contact the CALBO Office as soon as possible regarding all registration changes.

What to Expect from your In Person Attendance?

To make the most of your in person experience, whether in Burlingame or Costa Mesa, please read the information below.

  • Registration - Burlingame Registration Deadline is Thursday, September 17 at 5:00pm sharp, no exceptions. Costa Mesa Registration Deadline: Thursday, October 15 at 5:00pm sharp, no exceptions

  • Two Days Before Each Course - Each student is emailed a link to download their course materials 72 hours before each course starts. Please save the materials as the links expire after each course concludes. Tablets, laptops and personal electronic devices are highly encouraged inside the classrooms. Each classroom has Wi-Fi.

  • Day of each Course - In-person classrooms open each day at 7:00am. All courses run from 8:00am – 3:30pm.

  • Breaks - Each Course takes place from 8:00am – 3:30pm with scheduled breaks. Ten-minute breaks take place at 9:00am,10:15am,1:15pm, and 2:30pm. Lunch takes place from 11:15am – 12:15pm. Times are strictly followed.
