This webinar provides an overview of Section 11B-202.4 within the 2022 California Building Code Chapter 11B, which covers path of travel (POT) elements triggered by additions and alteration projects. Attendees learn how to answer key questions to determine POT triggers for additions and alteration projects, apply key terms that affect POT triggers, and differentiate proposed improvements from triggered upgrades. A checklist for POT elements serving areas of alteration will also be used. Building officials, accessibility plan reviewers, accessibility inspectors, designers, architects and contractors are encouraged to attend. The 2022 codes are now in effect as of January 1, 2023, so a discussion of amended definitions and code sections is vital in performing field and plan check duties.
