The 2020 CALBO Virtual Education Week courses will be broadcast live from the Newport Beach Education Week from Monday, December 14 – Thursday, December 17, 2020. See more details under “Virtual Experience” below.
Registration is currently open and available. Please complete all course registrations at www.calbo.org. Due to the pandemic, registering through the website is the only available option for either in person or virtual training. New online registrations and transfers from another Education Week will be accepted until the deadline on Wednesday, December 9 at 5:00pm. This is a firm deadline – no exceptions can be made.
CALBO has invested in production resources to ensure your experience at our Virtual Education Week is second to none. Your course will be taught live by a skilled and knowledgeable subject matter expert in front of a live audience in Newport Beach. However; we have added an additional subject matter expert in the classroom to work with our virtual attendees in real time. Attendees may pose questions through the chat and conversation functions of the course and expect to receive a response in real time. This is not a canned experience.
The Day Prior to each Course
You will receive a personalized link the day before each course to access your classroom and download the instructional materials. Classroom audio and visual can be accessed with the link. This link is unique to you and may not be shared with others as it will only allow one device at a time.
The Day of each Course
Welcome to your Virtual Education Week. You may use your unique link to enter the course any time after 7:30am for full-day courses and morning half-day courses, or 12:00pm for afternoon half day courses. Full Day courses are from 8:00am – 3:30pm, AM Half-Day courses are from 8:00am – 11:15am, and PM Half-Day courses are from 12:15pm – 3:30pm. You will be able to access audio and visual with your link.
Breaks & Lunch
CALBO’s Virtual Education Week will include plenty of breaks to ensure your ability to leave your computer, stretch and regain focus. Two ten-minute breaks will be offered in the morning at 9:00am and 10:15am along with two ten-minute breaks in the afternoon at 1:15pm and 2:30pm. A full hour break will be given for lunch from 11:15am – 12:15pm. You do not need to logout of the course during breaks.
Every registrant will receive an attendance certificate electronically, which is also printable, within 48 hours of each course. Each course is approved by the ICC Preferred Provider Program and most courses are approved by American Institute for Architects. Please check our website for specific course information. For three hour courses, .3 CEUs will be granted. For six-hour courses, .6 CEUs will be granted. Registrants must be logged into and attend the course for the entire duration to receive credit.
A link to complete an online course and instructor evaluation will be emailed immediately to you following each course to ensure that the CALBO Virtual Education Week has met your expectations.
Transfer from another CALBO Education Week
We understand that registrations were accepted for in person events in San Ramon and Ontario. Given that CALBO’s Virtual Education Week will feature all of the same courses, you are welcome to transfer your in person registration to this virtual experience. All transfers will be accepted up until the deadline on Wednesday, December 9 at 5:00pm.
May I attend in person?
