This webinar addresses new code provisions in the 2022 California Building Code (CBC), Chapter 30, Section 3001.2, pertaining to equivalent use of a two-way emergency communication system by deaf, hard-of-hearing, and speech-impaired occupants. Cal/OSHA Elevator Inspectors typically enforce the California Elevator Code (Title 8), but since Section 3001.2 is within the CBC, local building departments are expected to review and verify compliance of these accessibility provisions. This webinar reviews what an AHJ needs to consider when enforcing regulations and code-intent behind these new system requirements.
