Each year, CALBO staff organizes volunteers from building departments throughout California to assist in the classroom as moderators at the Education Weeks. Moderators check students into their classrooms, pass out course materials, and serve as the point of contact for the instructor. In exchange for this assistance, the registration fee for the course is waived. Moderators serve as a vital resource for CALBO staff, instructors, and students. Without such volunteers, the organization of the Education Weeks would not be possible.

Nearly two dozen volunteers from City of Glendale Building and Safety Division generously participated as moderators at the 2018 CALBO Education Week in Ontario. A special thank you to City of Glendale Building Official, Jan Bear, for organizing and allowing staff to participate.
