CALBO’s Proposed Bylaws Change – Make Your Vote Count

E-mail blast

Just this morning during the 61st Annual Business Meeting in San Diego, California, the Class I members present under a declared quorum voted to ratify the organizational Bylaws of California Building Officials.

Pursuant to the current and enforceable CALBO Bylaws, Article VIII, Section 1 entitled “Amendments” reads:

To become effective, affirmative action upon proposed amendments, taken by a majority vote of the Class I Members at the Annual Business Meeting, shall be ratified by a two-thirds majority of all Class I Members voting by letter ballot. Ballots must be sent out to all Class I Members within 15 days and, to be valid, must be returned within 30 days after the close of the Annual Business Meeting.

This serves as the letter ballot sent out to all Class I members of California Building Officials. You may vote in one of three ways by completing this ballot:

  1. Return a scanned copy via email to info@calbo.org no later than 11:59pm on Thursday, April 6, 2023.
  2. Return via U.S. Mail or expedited carrier with a postmark no later than Thursday, April 6, 2023 to:  CALBO, 1111 16th Street, Sacramento, CA 95814.
  3. Return to the CALBO Registration desk at the 61st Annual Business Meeting no later than 12:00pm on Thursday, March 9, 2023.

Within one-week of April 6, 2023, the Class I membership will be notified of the results of this effort. Please note, only one vote may be remitted per Class I member of CALBO and all ballots will be checked for a current membership, completion and integrity. Per the Bylaws, all ballots must be received within 30 days of Annual Business Meeting closing, or Thursday, April 6, 2023. A postmark of April 6, 2023, or earlier, shall qualify for receipt.

We encourage all Class I members of CALBO to vote. Thank you for being an active participant within your organization.
