How to Begin Social Media for Your Jurisdiction – 0.6 CEUs

In addition to ensuring public safety through plan checking, inspections, and code enforcement, public outreach is an equally important task for any building department.  In this course, attendees will learn how to leverage social media platforms to establish a digital public outreach strategy, gain community support, and get real-time feedback on jurisdiction services.  Along with gaining a better understanding of online communities, attendees will learn about building their own strategies, establishing an online voice, creating online content, defining target audiences, identifying important trends, and monitoring online posts and responses.  Attendees will also explore common social media myths and mistakes to managing social media platforms to achieve your department’s goals, whether it is creating public trust or spotlighting awareness of your department.

2016 Energy Standards: Nonresidential HVAC Requirements - 0.6 CEUs

City of Sacramento – Tuesday, August 28, 2018

This course will review the 2016 Building Energy Efficiency Standards for nonresidential, high-rise residential and hotel/motel heating, ventilation, and air conditioning requirements. The objective of this course is to increase the participants’ understanding of Title 24, Part 6. This course highlights resources and includes discussion about enforcement issues including identifying compliance triggers, verifying compliance at permit, and verifying measures and efficiencies at final inspection. Through this training, participants will be provided with the knowledge and tools necessary to enforce and comply with the 2016 Energy Standards. Topics include air distribution, ventilation, controls, commissioning, mandatory measures, performance and prescriptive requirements and acceptance testing.
