Is your Building Department prepared for its next emergency? Natural disasters and other emergencies come without warning as we have learned from recent wildfires, past earthquakes and the current COVID-19 pandemic. Disasters differ, from minor to major, but what remains consistent is the need for building departments and their leadership to be prepared. As cities and/or counties continue to plan for the unknown, what should be considered? This webinar discusses the history of California emergencies, efforts at the local and state level, work of the CALBO Emergency Preparedness Committee, and a legislative analysis of emergency preparedness to offer different tactics and approaches. Attendees are encouraged to participate to discuss the necessary steps and needs of building departments to remain in full operation and thrive to protect their communities during the next emergency.
