Welcome to the CALBO 2024 In Person Education Weeks in Burlingame and Costa Mesa. Here are some details to help you understand what to expect from your in person learning experience.

What to expect from the in-person Education Week experience?

Dates

CALBO Education Week Burlingame will take place from Monday, September 30 – Thursday, October 3 at the Hyatt Regency San Francisco Airport.

CALBO Education Week Costa Mesa will take place from Monday, October 28 - Thursday, October 31 at the Hilton Orange County/Costa Mesa.

Registration and Deadlines

Registration is currently open and available. Please complete all course registrations at www.calbo.org.

The registration deadlines are the following: Burlingame on Thursday, September 19 at 5:00pm and Costa Mesa on Thursday, October 17 at 5:00pm. These are firm deadlines – no exceptions can be made.

Two Days Before Each Course

CALBO will email the course materials to download 48 hours before each course. Please save the materials to your files as the material links will expire after each course concludes.

No printed materials will be provided by CALBO on-site. Students are encouraged to either print their materials themselves or bring a tablet, laptops and personal electronic devices. Wi-fi will be available in each classroom at each venue.

The Day of each Course

You may enter your classroom any time after 7:00am. All courses run from 8:00am – 3:30pm.

Breaks

There will be plenty of morning and afternoon breaks along with lunch to ensure your ability to stretch and regain focus. Two ten-minute breaks are offered in the morning at 9:00am and 10:15am along with two ten-minute breaks in the afternoon at 1:15pm and 2:30pm. A full hour break is given for lunch from 11:15am – 12:15pm. These timelines are strictly followed in each classroom.

Meals

Meals will be furnished for all in-person attendees, including morning and afternoon refreshments and lunch. 

Materials

All course materials will be emailed to students 48 hours before each course. IMPORTANT: No printed materials will be provided by CALBO on-site. Attendees are encouraged to either print their materials themselves or bring a tablet, laptop and personal electronic device to follow the material during the lecture. Wi-fi will be available in each classroom.

Attendance Certificate

Each attendee will receive their attendance certificate electronically, which is also printable, within 48 hours of each course. Each course is approved by the ICC Preferred Provider Program and most courses are approved by American Institute for Architects. Please check our website for specific course information. For six-hour courses, 0.6 CEUs will be granted.

Evaluations

Every attendee will receive an online link for each course to complete an online course and instructor evaluation to ensure that the course(s) met your expectations.

Cancellations

Written notification of cancellation must be received by info@calbo.org no later than one week before the start of the event for a refund, minus a 25% processing fee. Any cancellations after this date are non-refundable, and the registrant will be responsible for full payment. No-shows will not be refunded.

Transfers

Registrations may be transferred to another individual or another 2024 Education Week if the written request is received by info@calbo.org no later than one week before the start of the event. No registration transfers or changes after this date or onsite registrations at the venue will be accepted. No attendance changes from in-person to virtual or virtual to in-person after this date will be accepted. All transfer requests or registration changes are not guaranteed. Please contact the CALBO Office as soon as possible regarding all registration changes.
